Considered as one of the most beautiful in Europe, the sky of the High Alps<\/strong> presents a remarkable purity and transparency, carefully preserved from industrial and light pollution. These qualities, combined with the predominantly sunny weather and high altitude, offer the opportunity to lose oneself in the evening in a long and perfect stellar contemplation.
\nFaced with tourist offers which often rely on commercial mass tourism and expensive activities, the High Alps<\/strong> stand out by proposing to come back to the simple and essential things: enjoy a convivial dinner with family or friends, a bucolic walk or a romantic stroll under a glittering and fairy sky! Prestigious research and reception centres such as the Observatoire du Plateau de Bure<\/em> in the heart of the Vall\u00e9e de la Lumi\u00e8re or that of the Pic de Ch\u00e2teau Renard<\/em>, the highest observatory in France perched at 3000m altitude, in the Queyras valley where it is nicely said that “the cocks peck the stars”<\/em>. These centres provide their public with professional telescopes or organise multimedia animations revealing the mysterious secrets of the sky.<\/p>\n

Situated less than 10 minutes by car from Les Hauts de Rosans Campsite, the Observatory of the Baronnies Proven\u00e7ales<\/a> is also an open window on the sky. Dedicated to the observation and discovery of our often little-known nocturnal heritage, it offers visits, themed introductory courses in astronomy and long evenings in the company of the stars. Betting on tourism that is both close to nature and educational, the department of High Alps <\/strong> regularly organises astronomical events<\/strong> that put the stars in the spotlight. Many events are jointly organized by the Observatory of the Baronnies Proven\u00e7ales<\/strong> and the High Alps School of Astronomy<\/strong> : des Nuits<\/em> ou Week-ends \u00c9toil\u00e9s<\/em>, des Stages \u00c9toile<\/em>, des Immersions astronomiques<\/em> or the very popular Nuit des \u00c9toiles<\/em>, organised this year from 03 to 05 August.<\/p>\n
